Do a (tandem) sky dive!

Best done before 50, as any older you need a medical before you can proceed.

And - it's like having 3 double gin and tonics coursing through your body all at once.

I’ve got 18 months to fit a lot in.
I’ve got 43 months until the mortgage is paid off.
Some things will need to wait until 55!

@KissingFr0gs92 i love the idea of sailing on a tall ship. Definitely adding that to the list. I want to hoist a mainsail!

KissingFr0gs92 · 06/07/2019 12:31

I'm going to add, seeing puffins in the wild onto my list too

Learn to cook five new dishes (eg tofu, quinoa...)

Take a class (online) in something totally out if your usual zone. Geology, programming, Spanish

Visit a planetarium on a clear night and see the moon through the telescopes

Help out someone else in a special, thought through way for a week (or 7 Saturdays). E.g babysit for someone who could really use it.

Throw a dinner party. Or other party/reunion.

Find out about your family history. By visiting older relatives.

Some fantastic ideas thank you so much I've stolen lots of them. I have very little imagination and didn't even know I wanted to do some of the things that I do!!!

I just turned 60, and you've inspired me to think of 70 things I want to do before 70, OP :)

These will include:

Visit Canada
Travel on the Orient Express
Visit Varanasi, in India
Trace my birth family (am adopted)
Do The Fat Duck experience
Have a go at surfing
Finally do couch 2 5k (have been meaning to for years)
Go glamping
Start a small business
See the Northern Lights
Renovate our house
Manage to take a proper star trail photo
Try fly fishing
Read War and Peace (better start soon!)
Learn enough Irish to hold a conversation
Camp on a beach
Get a wine fridge
Get a beer fridge (DH's suggestion)

Luckily, (or unluckily, depending on how you look at it) I'm about to come into a medium sized inheritance, after years of being skint, so most of the above is doable :)

@FurryDogMother I'm so excited that I have inspired somebody! And I'm also so excited that you have the money to do it all! You've got some great ideas and I may well steal one or two! Please keep me posted on what you do and how it goes I would absolutely love to hear. Life is for living and adventures Grin

clpsmum · 06/07/2019 20:08

A couple more for me- I'm fifty in less than a year so might not get all of mine in.

Have lunch at each of the Michelin star restaurants in Birmingham

Go out dancing in a city other than Birmingham

Drink Aperol spritz in at least 5 different cities

See more UNESCO world heritage sites

SmellbowPenisBeaker · 06/07/2019 20:32

I think a nice way to approach this would be to have a chat with the little version of you. Write the list that you’d have written when you were 5. That way you avoid tokenisation bucket list stuff.

wheresshegone · 06/07/2019 20:58

Milk a cow!

clpsmum · 06/07/2019 21:07

@wheresshegone that is actually on the list hahahhaha

OP posts:
clpsmum · 06/07/2019 21:09

@SmellbowPenisBeaker the list is well underway now! I have a couple of kinky ones on it so definitely an adult list!

Haha @clpsmum Fair enough!
