Fuck off Daily Mail

Just seen another thread where the OP has included the above stating that she doesn’t give permission for her thread to be reproduced. Do posters really think that by saying this or by calling the DM cunts that this will prevent their thread from being lifted? Do they not understand that if the DM wants to do so they will just lift the bits they want while redacting any swear words?

I don’t understand how posters think that they have any ownership over their posts once they are on a website such as MN, where anyone can read them. It’s the internet. Anyone can access it anywhere in the world. Wise up.

OP posts:

Yes, but on the other hand - why not tell them to fuck off to fuck and fuck themselves while they fucking do it? I can't think of a single reason.

It's a public forum, partly funded by the DM. If you don't want it to end up there, don't post it.

Shelvesoutofbooks · 05/07/2019 22:20

And it's not only the daily mail. I've recently seen mumsnet threads on an eastern european newspaper website too, after a friend who's from there shared it on FB.

ssd · 05/07/2019 22:22

babysharkah, it's not part funded by the mail.

Hithere12 · 05/07/2019 22:22

If the Daily Mail run a story about a thread then a percentage of those people will google the thread. They will not want the embarrassment of people seeing “fuck the daily mail”

Soola · 05/07/2019 22:24

Grin

Don’t be so silly.

It’s a public forum and journalists can lift anything said in the comments an use.

It’s a perfectly acceptable means to gather information or personal interest stories and is used by all media not just the Daily Mail.

If you don’t want any detail of your private life being released in a news publication choose another forum which is private.

Lol

PancakeAndKeith · 05/07/2019 22:25

Well it won’t really stop them but they are less likely to run something that has “fuck off Daily Mail’ in it.

Soola · 05/07/2019 22:25

@Hithere12 trust me, that not true. Grin

What are you on about? MN isn't partly funded by the DM!

Ivegotthree · 05/07/2019 22:26

What @Soola said.

Cant imagine that bothers them in the least. They'll just remove it before lifting the quotes. The Sun & Mirror are just as bad but noone seems to bother about them for some reason

ssd · 05/07/2019 22:31

It's fashionable on here to hate the daily mail, or the daily fail haha...
The sun is also full of utter shit but I don't think mn users even know it exists

DpWm · 05/07/2019 22:32

If you were a journalist for the DM would you really want to draw attention to a mn thread that started off with "Fuck off Daily Mail" you'd make yourself look like an idiot journalist.

Maybe people should also start posting
"Fuck off random Eastern European journalists" too.

(Was it the adopted child inheritance thread by the way Wink)

Lakefront · 05/07/2019 22:37

Its suprising how many journalists & Tv researchers trawl here for stories. I live in Canada there is a daytime show called the social its a bit like loose women. They have discussions based on mumsnet threads at least twice twice a week.
