Anyone in a secondary school data role...?

I've got an interview early next week for a data role in a secondary school. I'm a parent governor at a primary school, so know a little about data and results pressures for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 but will be doing a load of reading about Progress 8/Attainment 8, KS3 and KS4 data.

Out of work being a SAHM for four years, so keen to get back into work but having had 5 interviews already, it's hard to talk about experiences from years ago.

What do you do in your role? Any tips for the interview? I've also got an in-tray exercise but of course that could be anything. Not too worried about that as it's difficult to prepare without having had a similar interview before but I'm pretty confident on Excel, using formulae etc.

I've got lots of large dataset experience from working previously in several jobs, report writing and giving presentations (about said data). So hoping that's all transferrable. No experience of SIMS or other pupil management software so a bit worried about questions I can't really relate to or pull in transferable experience.

Any helpful tips and info gratefully received.

Just downloading all the Government results docs. That will be delightfully heavy reading this weekend Grin

Does the primary school use SIMS - many secondary’s do so would be good to get a feel for it.

Good thinking @BrightonBB. Will pick the brains of the primary school office staff, maybe they might chat to me for 5mins on Monday?

Had our Performance and Standards meeting back in May so will dig out the data from that to remind myself of why the data is used, importance of it etc.

@BrightonBB Thanks for the PM with extra info. I got the job and start in September. Absolutely can't wait. Thank you so much.
