Anyone know if Subway straws biodegradable?

Just sat in subway and noticed that the straws are green plastic ones. Great I thought I’ll pinch a few as can’t stand the paper ones, however it just made me query if they’re biodegradable. Does anyone know if they’re biodegradable?

The staff member doesn’t know and a quick google and look on their website only talks about their packaging being made from recycled products....

Pretty certain they are plastic and not biodegradable. Are there any symbols you can see on them? What was it that made you think they might be?

No, there’s nothing on them to suggest they are. I assumed high street food chains had gone biodegradable with their straws...
