Any quick help please? OH admitted with appendicitis

I’m just leaving work to grab him some essentials and meet at the hospital - is there anything in particular I should take other than pjs, toothbrush, etc?
Anything that would make recovery more comfortable for him?
Any help hugely appreciated!

When in hospital I always appreciate squash. He might be nil by mouth at the moment in prep for any surgery, but when he is told to keep fluid levels up it's nice to have something other than water.

Peppermint tea bags, loose socks, headphones, earplugs, sports water bottle , straws.

Charger.
Small towel.
Bottled water. Paper/book.

Water bottle can drink from not sitting up. Lip balm, ear plugs, eye mask, wipes, shower gel/towel, own clothes, book, ipad/iPod with podcasts downloaded, charger.

If time snacks (savoury and sweet), magazine, sleeves (can get v cold in hospital), change. And take all of this non essential things away. Does he have a car that needs moving or is in paid for parking?

I didn't know until dh's was out and when I got home from work. Took clean pj's and clean clothes for the morning. He was discharged the following day and I had him home by 10.30am. They wrote him up some painkillers which I had to go back for at 2pm. He was desperate to be home and wouldn't wait x
