Weekend away - so much stuff!

We're off on a weekend away with friends, leaving after school tomorrow. I said to DH I'd get the packing and sorting done today so we can pack up tonight.

I like to think I'm fairly sensible, but why is it that packing sends me a bit neurotic?
We're away for 2 nights/ days.

Does DS1 need 6 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of socks and shorts and 2 pairs of shoes? No, no he doesn't.

Does DS2 need a babygrow, long sleeved vest and short sleeved vest in case the room is Arctic, normal or sweltering? No. And which growbag does he need?

By the time I've packed a case, meds, some books, toys and games, travel cot & mattress, and allergy safe food, we're going to need the flipping roof box.

And yes, I know I could take things out... But what if I do that AND THEY NEED THEM?!

Please tell me I'm not alone?

We are going away for the weekend too. Taking DD 3.5 and DS 13wk by train. One small case, one pram, one change bag, dh rucksack, my handbag, DD backpack.

If going by car, we would pack:
One outfit per day for everyone who is toilet trained. One extra for anyone in Nappies.
One set of Night clothes each plus cardigan for baby.
Travel cot, fitted sheet, no mattress (can usually find a blanket or towel to put between padded base and sheet.
Toiletries (one small bag, sharing everything)
Whatever gro bag we were using normally as can use a towel as a blanket if needed.
No spare shoes.
(Meds & allergy food)
Sunhats for all.
One each: book / toy / game
Nappies
3 muslins
My handbag
Dh's backpack

Re toys. We have kid size ruck sacks and they go under there feet in the car. They carry them themselves.
