Hi, first holiday with kids 7 and 4, feeling a bit apprehensive about being stuck in a small space with them particularly the 4 year old. What did you bring on the plane to keep them entertained?

I’ve forgotten what they’re called, but those coloring pages that use a water pen. You fill the pen with water and colour in. Can get them in hobbycraft.
Sticker books. Changes of clothing. Snacks (my kids hated the airline food).
As others have said, it goes quicker than you think, esp with unlimited screen time!

I wouldn’t take too many toys. Small ones get lost/dropped etc and there’s a lot of faff retrieving them. Same goes for Lego.
Couple of magazines and maybe one or two familiar toys that you’d take anyway if they were going to be played with either end.
There will be food, but treats onboard or buy some at the airport.
I have to say, I’m not strict with screen time for my 7 year old but he’s not allowed it whenever he wants at home, it’s still limited. On a plane, all rules go out the window and he can watch or play what he wants for however long he wants.
Get some good sound cancelling headphones (to be honest, even if they’re not noise cancelling as long as they’re comfy that’s what matters).
