Popular backpacks for 9 year olds

So my 8 year old sheepishly told me he was the only child in his class that still goes to school with a book bag bless him...I promised him a backpack for September, what are the "in" bags for children? I feel so out of the loop, he doesn't seem to have a brand name in mind so perhaps 9 year olds aren't that fussy?! (So long as it isn't a book bag lol!) Any suggestions!

It's best to look at the children in your school and see what they have and ask your dd what he wants. What is 'in' at one school won't be at another.

My sons 8 and had a Batman bag this year but wants a Nike one next year.

@SavoyCabbage it's a bit tricky as I don't do the school drop off often (not to his yard anyway) hence not realising book bags weren't the norm KS2 lol.

Based on my DC and the other kids in the schools they go to, Smiggle backpacks are the in-thing with most of the kids carrying one.
