Just catching up with what I missed of Glastonbury on Saturday.

He's so very very very good looking. He didn't do it for me when they first came out but he's really ageing well.

He's absolutely gorgeous in the The Man video.

Ugh, I just googled to see a new pic and it looks like he’s defending Morrissey. No thanks

OkPedro · 05/07/2019 01:49

Defending Morrissey from what siennasienna

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 05/07/2019 09:19

He isn't defending Morrisey

If you read the full, original, article he is asked about his "15 Kings" his list of inspiration.

He lists some of the 15 artists who he greatly admires. Morrisey is one of them. He then checks himself as he realises he probably shouldn't have brought him up given the current issues. He does say that Morrisey was still a great poet (paraphrased) however.

So at no point did he defend him. He commented about one thing and he's been misquoted or taken out of context

I cba finding the article I read. It was on a Google search.

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 05/07/2019 09:28

NME

Asking about Morrissey’s problematic politics, Flowers replied: “He’s still a king. He’s unparalleled in what he’s achieved and his prowess and his lyrics and his sense of melody, it’s just incredible. I forgot he was in hot water though, so I shouldn’t have brought him up.”

LucilleBluth · 05/07/2019 09:30

spub that's wonderful, thanks for sharing.

I'm sure mormons do have oral sex...they don't all live by the book in every aspect. And he didn't leave the US until he came to London to do his first Killers gig in 2003 and he wasn't church going until he got married so it's highly unlikely that he went knocking on doors in England when he was 18.

Isn't it mad in 2019 that being a Christian is a cause for suspicion.

Morrissey is turning gammon by the day but that doesn't mean he's not a genius in his work.

They could have gone for another angle in that article.

"Flowers defends tax dodging", he did mention Bono after all.

Quintella · 05/07/2019 10:28

Isn't it mad in 2019 that being a Christian is a cause for suspicion.

Chill out, superfan. I'm just explaining that sex with Mr Flowers might not be as earth shaking as some people might dream. And I haven't even mentioned the special underpants they have to wear...

Mormons aren't Christians btw.

MyLovelyLadyFlumps · 05/07/2019 10:36

Interesting Quintella thank you.

I don’t know if anyone has listened to the Guilty Feminist podcast, but the host was a Jehovah’s Witness and used to go door knocking with Peter Andre in Australia when they were teenagers. They met in London years later and she tried to explain why she’d left JW, long explanation about feminism blah blah and he was like well I just really needed to have sex Grin

Olinguito · 05/07/2019 10:59

This is a really interesting interview for all you fellow Brandon fans:

Fairylea · 05/07/2019 12:57

I love the fact a lot of the Killers lyrics are quite religious. I guess they’re all open to interpretation but “When we were young” is my absolute favourite. After growing up in quite a religious background myself I really relate to the line about waiting for someone to come along and save you and them not being as good as Jesus but settling for them regardless and them turning out to be a dick. Well, something along those lines.

One Republic do similar religious stuff with their lyrics, they’re another one of my fave bands.

Fairylea · 05/07/2019 13:04

Mormons self identity as Christian.

Fairylea · 05/07/2019 13:04

Identify even!

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 05/07/2019 14:28

Everyone!!!

Listen, it is REALLY important.

The Killers are shit and sexual fantasies don't live up to expectations due to religion 🤨 etc etc etc. OK?

There you go Quintella.

Well done. Thanks for your scintillating contribution to an otherwise enjoyable thread.

Yours.

Another superfan.

Quintella · 05/07/2019 14:47

Goodness me. Killers fans are a sensitive and foot stampy lot.

Threesoups · 05/07/2019 15:17

Their music is v good to stamp one's foot along to though.

I for one am enjoying this thread as it has introduced me to the concept of Brandon flowers wearing Mormon underpants, which is strangely arousing. I'm picturing me as Harrison Ford and him as Kelly McGillis.

Olinguito · 05/07/2019 15:58

According to the interview I linked above, his underpants are dark navy and a snug fit (I never expected to be discussing Brandon Flower's underpants online!)

Quintella · 05/07/2019 16:05

Oh I love Witness. Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis had super sizzlin' chemistry! You could be the one to tempt BF away from the true path and on to the path of sin a la Fleabag and um, The Thorn Birds.

waterrat · 05/07/2019 16:11

Brandon flowers is FIT

LucilleBluth · 05/07/2019 16:12

Of course Mormons come under the umbrella of Christianity. Anyway the ability to write a song isn't religion specific, and if anything his religiosity makes him more attractive. I am an atheist btw.

OP posts:
LucilleBluth · 05/07/2019 16:16

Yes...Fleabag priest, that's why religion adds to the sexiness.

OP posts:
Quintella · 05/07/2019 16:19

Well it's very subjective so if you're turned on by Mormonism you're turned on by it. Maybe that's maybe why the Osmonds gathered such a fervent following.

It's separate from Christianity tho.

LucilleBluth · 05/07/2019 16:24

The Killers are not the Osmonds. Over and out.

BustedDreams · 05/07/2019 16:31

After reading the @LucilleBluth thread starter I thought I was in for some flora beauty from some new flower seller.

Wow so glad I was wrong. Ding Dong Mr Flowers ❤️ He is bloomin’ lovely.

Never heard of him before. Yes I’ve been living under a rock.

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 05/07/2019 17:16

Oh Andrew Scott and Brandon Flowers. On the same thread.

Heavenly, pun entirely intended.

😂
