Compact Cameras

Can anyone advise on compact cameras?

I’m looking for something that will take better photos than my iPhone, but nothing too huge (were I have to change lenses, etc) or expensive.

I like these because I just like how they look! Has anyone got either of them? Or can you give any other recommendations?

What iPhone do you have? Just because the pictures uploaded on the first camera seem just as good quality as my iPhone XR? The second one looks nice but nobody has uploaded any pictures taken by it so hard to judge. Would a small dslr instead of a compact digital work any better for you? Most mobile phones are just as good as separate cameras nowadays - Samsung are especially good if you're willing to give up the iPhone

My iPhone 8 takes good pictures but I'll never give up my camera because of the zoom. I'd probably go for the Panasonic because of that. I've currently got a Panasonic TZ200 and I love it

I've got an iPhone X... but I really want a camera! I'm convinced I'll get better pictures from it.

The panasonic has a view finder, which a lot of other cameras I've looked at don't have.

I guess I'm after something a bit more 'real' than an iPhone camera (if that makes sense).

I have got a very old DSLR but I'm looking at compact as they are smaller and easier to take around with me (and last time I took it on holiday I took the wrong lens or had it on the wrong setting and my photos were all blurry).

The DSLR (when I use it properly!) takes much sharper photos than my iPhone.

Panasonic Lumix TZ series. I had a TZ7 and took over 100000 photos with it before it died after nearly 10 years. Just replaced it and went with a Sony as it was comparable spec to the latest TZ but on an amazing offer. I hate it and wish I'd paid the extra for the Panasonic.

I like taking photos, and it's one of the reasons I keep updating my camera. I like my iPhone X.

However, I also have this Canon PowerShot G9 which I REALLY like

You'll find it's got very good reviews. Basic, but very portable

I used to have the Panasonic tz80 and loved it, now have the tz200 like a previous poster.

Canon Powershot G7X. It’s been around for a couple of years but it’s one of the best. It’s even better when it’s discounted heavily. It has 20 million pixels and lots of options. Best of all, it’s fairly small and you can use the Canon app to download pictures to your iPhone. Win win in my view.

What Camera is the best source of advice on camera purchases.

Thanks everyone. I've ordered the Panasonic Lumix - the one I linked to, not the more expensive versions (I'm working to a budget!)
