Parking Eye

I've had a Parking Eye fine (my own fault, didn't read the signs properly). I've tried to pay it online, and when I entered the ref number in the letter I got a message in red saying "no balance can be found for the reference entered". I've entered it three or four times and still get the same message.

I've tried the automated phone line, got exactly the same message, I've gone back online as if I want to appeal the fine (I don't) and it just says that they are unable to find my parking charge using that reference.

It seems the only way to actually speak with them is via letter? Part of me thinks well if they've no record of a balance on my reference number they can't chase me for it, but the sensible part is panicking thinking I should write to them to avoid the Bailiffs turning up at my door!

I've read lots of stories about Parking Eye so not sure how to proceed? So not to drip feed the charge is for not entering my reg in the machine but I was parked in a disabled bay with my badge on display so possibly they could have cancelled it because of that, I don't know?

Anyone had any dealings like this with Parking Eye?

No experience, but take screenshots of it saying there is no balance then if they come at you, you have evidence to support that you tried to pay.

Thanks for replying Veni, yeah that was the 1st thing I did, screenshot it. Luckily it also shows in the screenshot where I put their reference number so it is fairly conclusive!
