October 2016 social got involved, son was 7 months got a bruise, was put on child in need until Jan 2018 ,moved to child protection, had a accident ,he was taken into care for 9 months so they could investigate, son came home in November last year,is child in need again.
May 24th this year i left my husband, took my son to meet my mum,she suggested looking after him to talk to husband about why id made that decision .id told social worker the news ,and my mate said i was welcome to go to hers .on way to the talk and seeing my friend i gets call ,and then he threatened me.social worker did visit at friends house, told me not to go back to house, not safe so after chilling with my friend i got bus to my parents and have been there ever since. From may 24th-may 28th was receiving nasty calls, texts, voicemails ,blocked contact may 28th. he has accused me of things i haven't done, and friends of mine and i got the evidence to show this by the way.
June 3rd man shows up at my house with a injunction and 2 days later found out husband wants son back with him so custody battle as well, been court twice, contact order in place, son still with me and parents, social been is happy.she has to do a single parenting assessment, and do a report on what she thinks should happen, she has til august 2nd.can anyone tell me what single parenting assessment involves?

No one takes your child for 9 months for 2 bruises. Some of your story is missing.

The rest sounds a bit jumbled, have you been at your mums now since May?

The social worker will be assessing your ability to parent by yourself.

Children don't go into care for 9 months for a"mysterious" bruise what else happened?

Mrsjayy · 03/07/2019 10:14

A parenting assesment is self explanatory she will assess your capacity to parent

Mrsjayy · 03/07/2019 10:16

Ah your child went into care because of an acident

Cookit · 03/07/2019 10:16

Because of a bruise? My baby was continuously bruised at that age from pulling to stand, bumping into things etc. Did your husband cause the bruise?

As I’ve read it the social worker told you not to go back your house with your ex after he had threatened you? And now this same man wants custody?

the first bruise was before he was a year old and i struggled getting him out of a highchair, there were other bruises but those were all accidental but the last two were seen as non accidental ,i didn't see any of the last two accidents happen, only my husband and his mum saw the last one but forced me to report it.so our son went into care ,it should have been six months but there were delays.a judge found us both innocent and he came home, social stayed involved. and may this year I left my husband and he has got a non molestation order on me and wants custody,he locked my phone so that i can't show that evidence on me,is aggressive and has hung up on social services and yep wants custody,he has done two statements as his "evidence" so far, there are 12 lies in there ,most of which i have the truth for and the other two would have to be reasonable doubt. there is a third statement coming in today god only knows that stories are in there and no ,in the application for the non molesation he says he was hurt violently, emotionally, mentally and financially by me,no witnesses to any of those btw ,and i have a clean record, never been questioned by police, charged or arrested,he was threatened by my friend,he says too afraid to go out ,thats how he got it granted ,judge hasnt seen any statements or my evidence yet.social doing assessment on each of us,we had a joint one last year.

social services are happy with me so far i have always worked well with the, reported all bruises, been polite, let them in the house, not stormed off or hung up,have always been honest, i went to police over the threat on may 24th, son was with my parents when id rung the police,he was already safe. its not advised for me to get own place with my son yet, cos of court.

I live with my parents and have support of other family and friends, husband has used needing support againist me, says he concerned how i will cope as single parent and he is better equipped. Son is doing well in nursery, toilet training, am firm when discipline , he is hopefully starting a new nursery in sep which is attached to a school,he has made new friends,he attends mums and toddlers, goes to church,is fed, bathed and clothed.sleep routine could be better but iv coped well social say. Son is still child in need ,he does see his dad, saw him last weekend and had a couple of sessions for a couple of hours before that,he at his dads this weekend ,after this weekend i believe it will change to alternate.husband solicitor had said i needed constant supervising with son but in court social said none of us needed that.iv also put in referral for counselling,my mental health good, and general health too, local parks and i can take son swimming and he is very affectionate ,safe and happy with me.
