What have you done that you never thought you could do?

I'm currently trying to work up the courage, despite having anxiety, to take my mum abroad on holiday (I've never booked an overseas holiday before or gone abroad as the 'lead' traveller) so I'm looking for bravery inspiration.

I think mine would be getting and working in my current job. I'm terrified of interviews as my ultimate fear is being in the spotlight, but I did really well (obviously!) I'm shy and very introverted and when younger I've been in jobs where saying anything out loud felt torturous but I now have quite a senior role in a company, have many meetings, speak out about my opinions etc. I also drive to said job and was previously an extremely nervous driver. I still feel like I'm faking it, but at least it looks like I'm making it on the outside!

Adulting. Lots more I could list, but I reckoned the basics were beyond me.

Secured a place at university to study paramedic practice. I wasn't particularly academic as a youngster, so always assumed I was too dumb to go.

very small potatoes compared with other achievements on this thread but for me it was running without stopping for 30 mins. I went through school thinking I was 'bad at sport' because I couldn't run, then at 38 I decided to do Couch to 5K and realised running was something you can learn. Since then I've gone back to C25K several times and each time I push past the 'running without stopping' barrier it makes me realise I'm stronger and more resilient than I think.

Mine would be starting my own business, divorcing my husband and the bungy jump.

Run half marathons! I was fit at school, but then gradually lost it as I grew up and I was terrible after having DD2. I started with couch to 5k, then discovered a love for running. I never would have thought it & neither would anyone else who knows me!

Qualified as a doctor.
I spent much of my teen years struggling, with a father with serious mental health issues and a very difficult family home. I left school at 16, dropped out of college, and struggled to find my path. I've spent 7 years working toward my medical degree and truly never would have seen my life this way 10 years ago

Run a half marathon. Never in a month of Sundays did I think the legs that I used bemoan on a daily basis for being to chunky/wobbly/anything-negative-I-could-think-of, could rise above all the bad things I’ve said about them and power me to run miles and miles and miles. Feel a bit emotional even typing this... legs, you are bloody wonderful and I love you.
