Passive aggressive class WhatsApp messages

Why is there always one mother on the school WhatsApp group who is an arsehole?
You know the judgy one who always knows best? The one who has all the answers and who is so far up the headteachers arse she needs to be surgically removed?
Never met her husband (actually think he might be a figment if her imagination) but if he's real my god the man is a saint!!!
Hit me with your similar experiences!!

£15Hmm bloody hell!! £5 here to be split between teacher and TA, that was a whole drama in itself!

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 02/07/2019 21:47

@babyno5 I’m thinking maybe we are in the same group after your last post!! I’m in a village jst outside a town

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 21:47

i see you a what's app group and i raise you an official app! we were told not to use whatsapp and have to use the Classlist app instead.
Have to say, it's annoying but bloody useful.

@donquixotedelamancha yes, that's exactly what happens - someone goes around collecting numbers. We started at school just as GDPR laws came in, and they aren't therefore allowed to share parents details any more, so someone has to volunteer to compile them all

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 21:49

@Betty777 an actual dedicated app? Wtf? 😂😂

OP posts:
dillusionaldog · 02/07/2019 21:50

@definitelyshouldknowbetter I know, £15!! Someone threw in the "theyre not allowed to accept gifts over X amount" line, and other people claimed they had already bought. I will be there next Friday, £5 Aldi flowers in hand Grin

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 21:51

@dillusionaldog fuck that 😂😂. I KNOW the teachers appreciate alcohol and my god they deserve it 😂😂 xx

I was added into a group last year. Thought it’d be pretty useful for some things (like if DS came home with the wrong jumper) but it turned out to be a group where 8 women slated the teacher, 2 were reasonable and would suggest taking any issues to the teacher and the rest stayed silent. I left it pretty quick, it was the most negative chat I’d ever been on!

sanityisamyth · 02/07/2019 21:52

Most of the chat on our group is about headlice doing the rounds!! 🐜

The joys of 5 year olds!!!

Betty777 · 02/07/2019 21:54

@babyno5 Yup.

There is seldom a time when my phone is not beeping - it notifies me when not just someone in my class group posts, but also when anyone posts on the whole school board.

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 02/07/2019 21:54

Oh no, yr1, which means I have 5 whole more years of it!!! I can’t leave the official group because I’m not reliable enough to remember nonuniform/wear orange/bring cake/forest school clothes/class collection/nativity times etc etc!

My child is still scarred from the amazon spesh “funnybones” costume in reception, that I totally didn’t think through, it was an all in one skeleton outfit, a kindly year 6 ended up helping him in the toilets as he was sobbing because he couldn’t get it off in time to get to the loo for a weeBlush, kindly yr6 boys mum made sure to let me know all about it!

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 02/07/2019 21:59

I left the reception year messenger group as all the cliques started showing their mean girl credentials by posting about parties they were having without inviting the whole class. I think I left a passive aggressive 'I think I'm in the wrong group by mistake rather than a class group. Sorry!' and flounced off! Blush

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 02/07/2019 22:01

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee good for you!! No need for that shit!

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 22:03

@Betty777 oh sod that! We preach to our kids about not using technology etc then our lives are ruled by it 😂😂

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 22:04

@definitelyshouldknowbetter yep you have another 5 years 😂😂. I'm feeling quite hopefully it will all end with them going to secondary after summer but knowing her she'll keep it going till they're all finished sixth form 😂😂

OP posts:
babyno5 · 02/07/2019 22:05

@Needcoffeecoffeecoffee it's horrible seeing fully grown women revert to mean girls. Good for you for flouncing! I love a flounce 😂

Having learnt my lesson DH is now in the rugby group with very intense new dad in charge who is clearly living hrough his 5yr old. There was a suggestion the adults all got matching hoodies with the team name on for when they cheer on the team (of 5yr olds who forget which team they are on and which direction they are running in!). I laughed a lot!! (DH declined the £50 hoodie) Grin

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 02/07/2019 22:07

@babyno5 why stop at sixth form, you’ll be getting updates on uni, first house, wedding, baby the opportunities to remind you how amazing her darling is are endless! Bet you don’t get to know about the first time her beloved comes home shit faced and voms in their bed though!Grin

Earslaps · 02/07/2019 22:08

Two class WhatsApp groups and no drama at all here!! People only tend to post about parties if it's whole class or all the boys/girls. Why are all the people I know so damn reasonable?!

We set the groups up and the office BCC emailed out a link to the group to all the class parents so they could join if they wanted.

Very useful for reminders about dress down days, changes to pe days etc! Plus we're organising a massive picnic on the last day of term (with lots of booze for the grown ups!).

DropZoneOne · 02/07/2019 22:08

I love our WhatsApp - whilst we have a class rep, she's as likely as the rest of us to say her child has forgotten xyz, so the first to remember or find out, posts. It's really helpful, no politics, no bitching. Am seriously going to miss it - year 6 here too.

Apparently, no such thing in year 7 so I'd better hope my child's ability to impart information before 9pm the night before improves considerably over the next 8 weeks.

Yes yes yes yes. I can't go into detail as it will out me and I'm already a social pariah because of ridiculous WhatsApp incidents.

babyno5 · 02/07/2019 22:17

@Sarahjconnor that's hilarious 😂😂. Was alcohol involved in agreeing to it?

OP posts:
babyno5 · 02/07/2019 22:19

@user27495824 it's ok you've found your tribe here 😂
