I LOVE it up to the point where Franz and Albert go to Rome and then I completely lose interest. I can feel it happening again.

Does it pick up again? Should I just push through?

It's years since I read it but I loved it. Push yourself and finish it op, it will definitely be worth it. I was like this with Les Miserables, I really struggled, but I just skimmed over the unnecessary boring bits, Lord that Victor Hugo really droned on, and I got there in the end.

Inspired by you op I think it's high time I read it again.

Yes! Push yourself through the boring Rome part, then shit starts to go DOWN .
