He's got high functioning autism, for the interests of full disclosure. But he never ever ever does as hes told/asked/requested/begged. literally never. I am so over it all now that I can hardly breathe.
It's not necessarily over anything majorly important, but it's relentless and wearing.
He has one consistent job, to feed the cats 2 or 3 times a day. He has to be reminded/nagged 2 or 3 times a day to do it.
Punishing doesn't seem appropriate since a lot of it due to the asd.
He has been given lists, notes, notebooks, Calendars etc etc to try to find a way to organise himself since our suggestions go in one ear and out the other. Weve tried family meetings, chats, lectures, rewards.
But if his mind doesn't want to do something for whatever reason, he just wont do it until it does suit him.
It is thoroughly exhausting and I just needed to vent. I have no idea what to do next. I'm worried about how this will impact on his future, eg exams, jobs etc.
