If you have a toddler and aren't at work, what are you doing today?

I have just dropped DD off at preschool. DS is 2.4. Unusually, we have no plans today. We have had a very busy 10 days or so. Currently he is in the driver seat of the car, seatbelt on, playing with (but not eating) a bag of Haribo. I'm not sure why there is a bag of Haribo in the car, it's not something I ever buy.

Presumably the rest of you are a bit more inspired than this? Grin

Watching paw patrol ...

I’ve decided we’re going to do baking this afternoon.

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 02/07/2019 09:24

I'm baking DD's birthday cake tomorrow Cake

Well my 3 yr old is sitting on my lap watching a movie, whilst I muster up the energy to get going for the day. We are on summer holidays so there’s no pressure but I really should make a plan 😬

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 02/07/2019 09:26

I fucking hate Paw Patrol. DD was obsessed, now DS loves it. They seem to have made about 5 new series between the two obsessive phases, and every series is worse than the one before it.

Just dropped DD off at preschool as well. Was planning to take DD2 to Aldi to do the food shop but she’s tired and grizzly so I daren't risk it now til she’s had a snooze! I love it when they get older and the days don’t revolve around naps.

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 02/07/2019 09:29

DS is in a tricky stage re naps. He refused for DH yesterday then fell asleep on the sofa at 5pm.

DS has now discovered the old Baby Sensory CD, so we are.still in the car listening to it and watching a lorry reverse.

Trying to decide if I can be bothered taking him to a playgroup. I'll need to go home to get the nappy bag and some cash if I do.

We stopped briefly at the park on the way home from the school run andDD is now watching Netflix. She's had a cold so been grizzly all weekend and looks exhausted now.

I need to do some housework and life admin for a bit but will go do the shops later.

VioletDaisies · 02/07/2019 09:41

Bit of cbeebies, play with some toys, have a nap, have lunch, maybe some scribbling on some paper (16mo) and then park when DC1 is out of school.

belleshelles · 02/07/2019 09:43

DD is almost 2 and currently half watching CBeebies whilst playing with her toys. Waiting for the "throwing myself on the floor because I don't want to get dressed" tantrum. Plan for today is let her help me do some washing and putting clothes away, pop into town on the bus for things for dinner and baking, then come home and let her get appallingly messy whilst we make rice Krispy cakes. We've had a very busy past couple of days so we're taking it easy this week.

Chipsahoy · 02/07/2019 09:45

Mine is still a baby really, newly walking.
He is currently having a bf, then he will nap. Wake up around 11 for a play, then lunch, then in the garden to play, then pick up older DC from school, home for nap then play before dinner.

Ivestoppedreadingthenews · 02/07/2019 09:45

Housework, a meeting re some work I’ve been doing in my volunteer role, pick up nursery aged child, have lunch, play with them both (probably junk modelling), TV time and mummy jobs, cook dinner, play, bed.

EyeDrops · 02/07/2019 09:47

Me, 3yo and baby are all on the couch watching Octonauts. Will sort some washing soon, brush teeth etc, then need to go shopping and will try and get to a park or playground later on too.

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 02/07/2019 09:54

Definitely not more inspired.. maybe quick run to the park before heading to the supermarket then back to let her play with her toys with CBeebies while i put it away and clean the kitchen and put the washing in.

Then she will nap, when she wakes it will be reading books, playing with toys and maybe little walk.

Looking for inspiration myself actually!

PepsiLola · 02/07/2019 10:00

We are off to softplay as it's the only time I can tolerate it (when schools are in)

Violet1988 · 02/07/2019 10:05

I'm home with a three year old who doesn't start nursery till September an a 19 week old. Currently 3 year old is watching TV while baby naps on me. When he wakes we will either go to the park or bake banana bread which ever 3 year old prefers. MIL will come round this afternoon to watch 3 year old while I take baby to baby massage. X

BirthdayKake · 02/07/2019 10:11

DD should be at nursery but has chickenpox. She's playing on her tablet. I'm doing some serious nesting (38+1).

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 02/07/2019 10:13

I've just realised that it's Tuesday, not Thursday, and the playgroup that I can tolerate isn't on today.

DS is in a bad mood. Going to try to make him nap early so I can ignore the washing and watch a film.

Almost 2 year old is sat next to me watching cbeebies, we've played cars since 7am. About to pop him down for a nap, then lunch, then the park this afternoon. That's about it!

BloodyMaud · 02/07/2019 10:23

I've sent mine to the childminder, with the intention of starting an almighty clearout of our flat in an effort to sell it. Instead I'm revelling in the quiet, feeling guilty and sitting on the sofa mumsnetting.

BloodyMaud · 02/07/2019 10:24

More helpfully - tomorrow I think I'll take him swimming then hope he has a long nap before DS1 needs collecting from school.

RickAstleyGaveMeUp · 02/07/2019 10:25

Don't feel guilty Maud, make the most of it. Have a cuppa and watch a programme with swearing and violence.

Mine is in nursery for the morning and I'm sitting in the garden in the sun. I'd usually feel guilty and be making myself busy. But this morning I'm relaxing!

Coop14 · 02/07/2019 10:27

Rocking back and forth 😂 only joking my 3yr old just had a cooked breakfast and has come over to see what I'm looking at. He smells 😭😂 x
