Where can I find support?

I’m splitting from my husband by his choice after 20 years together. I don’t have much real life support as all my friends are in solid couples with young children so whilst they’re sympathetic I don’t seem to be top of their list unfortunately. I was hoping to get some tips for where I can find support/ someone to talk to, not counselling but more support groups.

I guess I need to build a new friendship circle but have no idea where to start.....

Hi OP, I'm sorry you're going through this, especially without support.

I find ending a marriage/relationship to be such a lonely time, like you say friends are sympathetic, but have their own lives. I found my friends were happy to listen for the first few weeks, but seemed to get bored understandably maybe

The relationship board on here can be supportive, that may help you a little, even if you just use it to vent.

I cried a lot to my cat Blush she's a good listener.

Thanks @malibucyprus - they’re all saying the right things but I also think there’s an element of them not wanting to think about what I’m going through. They’re happy and everyone thought our relationship was happy too. It’s scary for people

There’s always someone to talk to on here. Or maybe the Gingerbread site.
