Light, but happening for months now. Im coming out of a very unsettling stage were I've been having constant panic attacks, and anxiety. I don't have regular periods, months can come and go without one. I have hair where it shouldn't be. Please can you advise me? I've convinced myself the worst.

Make a GP appointment would be best

marvellousnightforamooncup · 01/07/2019 22:48

Don't ask us, ask a doctor.

Loopylou6 · 01/07/2019 22:52

I appreciate your responses, but I'm asking for actual experience stories :)

How old are you? Could be polycystic ovary syndrome but it could be the menopause! Depends on your age

RandomMess · 01/07/2019 22:55

I did got it all checked out all is fine just my age 40's.

Loopylou6 · 01/07/2019 22:57

Im about to turn 37

RandomMess did the GP give you anything to relieve your symptoms? I am mid 40s and feeling anxious a lot as if everything just feels “too much”. like you get when you have PMT if you see what I mean. I’m just like that nearly all the time.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 01/07/2019 22:59

Well that’s too early to be “normal” menopause and does need a GP visit.

RandomMess · 01/07/2019 23:41

No nothing for the bleeding, I'm taking Vit B6, magnesium and taurine for my mood linked to Peru and feeling so much better. Less tearful, sore boobs vanished!

Ascreed · 02/07/2019 00:30

I have pcos lots of hair in places it shouldn't be, was crying last night over back hair on my shoulders that has sprouted up lately Sad had months of bleeding earlier on in the year. Definetly check in with doctors.

Loopylou6 · 03/07/2019 20:59

Evening all, sorry for late reply, so much going on.
@Ascreed I'm sorry you feel so low, altho i certainly understand you.
I guess I'm just wanting to know if pcos can do this ( constant spotting ) i know i need an appointment i just need to get the guts up to go.

Loopylou6 · 03/07/2019 21:00

@Ascreed how many months, and was it constant?

OP posts:
Loopylou6 · 03/07/2019 21:03

should add, I've had no actual period in MONTHS

defineme · 03/07/2019 21:05

Looplou6 can I ask what you fear the worst is? Are you worried it's pcos and want to have children? I had identical symptoms and have severe endometriosis, but I still had kids, as did all my friends with pcos so it's not necessarily bad from that perspective. Or was it something else you were worried about?

MamaRaisingBoys · 03/07/2019 21:06

I have irregular bleeding. Sometimes I spot every day of the month, sometimes I spot for a couple of days, sometimes I have a gush. I also have regular periods though.

Had a scan and a smear, all seems fine and the gp doesn’t seem any more interested than that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ascreed · 03/07/2019 21:08

About 5-6months, some incredibly heavy days, some light but I had blood every day.

PeppermintMe · 03/07/2019 21:14

This is EXACTLY me!!
Ive visited my GP no fewer than 5 times in 2 years about it and seen a gynae at least once and had a couple of scans.
I had extremely bad anxiety - like... Really really bad. Oddly... I had a random period and the anxiety disappeared almost overnight. I cant believe I spent months of my life thinking I was coping with a mental illness when actually it was very very clearly hormonal.
I am quite overweight (several stone) and have pcos symptoms too despite the scans not picking up on any cysts.
Im note sure how to advise as bith my gynae and GP are desperate to put a coil in me whereas I want to know whats causing the problem before I start trying to solve it by just bunging foreign objects into myself.

Loopylou6 · 03/07/2019 21:23

@defineme I've had my babies, my fear is cancer :(
I've been like this for a fair few years now, but, mostly, no periods, until this constant spotting. I have severe anxiety probs and I'm medicated for it.
But altho i know i really need to see a gp, I'm terrified, then i think 'well, absent periods, facial hair etc, hopefully it's hormonal? '

OP posts:
samlovesdilys · 03/07/2019 21:29

Do you have a coil?? I was like this for the first year after coil fitting...

Loopylou6 · 03/07/2019 21:32

No, husband has had the snip. I had no problems when i was on the mini pill. It has all started since i came off that

Happyralphymummy · 03/07/2019 21:59

I had this when I was using the contraceptive injection. No real period but constant spotting.
