Has anyone used these people for toilet paper?

It looks like a subscription service which would be quite good as its a real pain to buy especially if I'm hauling it home on the bus.

But don't want to buy rubbish toilet roll so was looking for opinions.

It was in a cafe I went in recently and seemed good. There is a trial offer at the moment, just pay £3 postage which I did last night. You do need to put your details in for subscription but can cancel it.

BellatrixLeStrangest · 01/07/2019 20:50

Following as I was debating whether to join up this morning.

DontCallMeShitley · 01/07/2019 20:55

I bought it, gave most of it to the foodbank, it is thin and poor quality, like the cheap Lidl stuff. The sheets are smaller than average. Not impressed at all. Supporting people with no toilets is all very well but chucking money down one is not such a good idea.

No-one wanted to use it due to fingers going through and all chose the one we usually buy instead.

I won't buy it again.

Soola · 01/07/2019 20:57

Never in a million years would I want a box delivered with that written on it.

Good idea though for those that don’t want to carry home bulky items or don’t use supermarket online shopping deliveries.

thelonggame · 01/07/2019 21:07

I had a sample box, I liked the tissues and the premium toilet paper - but that is bamboo and really expensive.
The standard one thats not so overpriced I thought was awful. Off white, incredibly thin and scratchy.
A real shame because I think it's a great idea, and I so wanted to like it.

picklemepopcorn · 01/07/2019 21:11

The standard one doesn't work for us, but we get the bamboo one. I like it.

reallyneedmoresleep · 01/07/2019 21:14

Agree, the bamboo loo roll is fine as are the tissues and kitchen roll. I love the ethos of the company and what they’re doing but agree that the “bog standard” roll is rubbish

ohhelpohnoitsa · 01/07/2019 21:17

The standard pne isnt impressive, the bamboo is great. The ethics are great. The price is comparable to Andrex and the rolls last ages, but you have to fork out £40 in one hit which is a lot for some people and you have to store it . Need a loo paper cooperative where 2 or 3 friends share the cost and items! We have been using the bamboo for 2 yrs now and wont change back.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 01/07/2019 21:19

Also, I am sure you can buy without subscribing.

gamerchick · 01/07/2019 21:19

It's 3 ply so I can't use it personally but I've heard good things.

Chunky outlay in cost though.

haveuheard · 01/07/2019 21:20

We've been using it for about 6 months. I like it, easier for me to get it delivered, rolls last much longer than a standard roll. It is a little bit off white but I haven't noticed it being less soft etc than 'normal' toilet roll, but then, its toilet roll, not something I care hugely about. The coloured paper wrapping is quite nice.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 01/07/2019 21:24

We get the bamboo its slightly more expensive than sainsburys but quality is good. I don't rate the kitchen roll though.

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 01/07/2019 21:24

We have used it for about 4 months (the bamboo also not the standard). However may need to rethink as the name is on the cardboard tubes and my 5 year old is into reading everything he sees now! I agree the box is a bit in your face.

dementedma · 01/07/2019 21:24

Works for us. It’s only for wiping your arse on after all and cuts down on plastic wrap which covers most bog rolls

Indecisivelurcher · 01/07/2019 21:32

I think the name is part of the appeal 😁 And we've found the quality good?! Better than recycled from the supermarket. This thread has me confused! It's been genuinely fine. Maybe I have low standards!!

Pashazade · 01/07/2019 21:53

I like it no issues with the standard stuff. Good for the environment. Yeah the names a bit of a rude gimmick but really life's too short to let that put you off. I just turn the packets round so you can't see it on the shelf. Plus you can adjust your delivery dates easily if you haven't gone through it as fast.

listsandbudgets · 02/07/2019 12:37

Thank you everyone.

Well I'll give it a go. I hadn't realised that there was a trail box. I'll start with that.

Thanks everyone

I just started a thread on this didnt see this one!
Is trial worth doing looks like you can cancel subscription anytime

PancakeAndKeith · 12/07/2019 13:01

Works well for me. I have the premium one though rather than the standard.
I’m perfectly happy with it.

PancakeAndKeith · 12/07/2019 13:01

Oh and I don’t subscribe, I buy it as and when.

unicornsrule · 16/07/2019 23:00

Thinking of buying it through amazon instead of subscribing through there website

Gilead · 16/07/2019 23:05

My ds uses it. I went out and boot some real loo roll when I was staying there, as the who gives is dreadful stuff. It’s thin, poor quality and a waste of money.

Geraniumpink · 16/07/2019 23:07

Eco leaf might be better. Who gives a crap? is made and shipped from China.

PurpleWithRed · 16/07/2019 23:14

Dh found it too thin, even the thicker one, and we only use own label stuff normally so it’s not like he was comparing it with quilted.

Singlenotsingle · 16/07/2019 23:20

I buy Floralys from Lidl. Soft, thick and strong, cream coloured and it smells nice.
