If you could design your house from scratch....

We've just had an architect discuss options for our house. We live in a mid terrace, nothing fancy, but the people before us knocked all the walls down so we have a blank canvas as to how our downstairs is designed.

Problem is, we don't know what we want! DC are 4 and 1 and I can't imagine what life is going to be like in 5 or 10 years and what we will want from our house.

What did you really value from your house when the kids were growing up or what do you wish it had?

Separate rooms is a must. Can you reinstate a couple of walls? The kids had a playroom when they were small that held all the toys and stuff, which now they’re older is their snug. It also holds the piano and a tv so it’s nice being able to shut a door.

I have got a pantry in my kitchen at the moment which I absolutely adore. Hides a lot of mess and clutter. Same goes for the laundry room.

Other than that open plan is quite sociable.
