What subscriptions do you have?

I am thinking of getting a treat subscription, like flowers or possibly cheese (I do really like cheese).

Do you have a treat subscription you recommend? Is it worth it or will I cancel on month 3 when the novelty wears off?

I have simply cook but I'm thinking of cancelling due to the plastic waste. It's been really lovely though trying lots of exotic dishes as I would have spent a fortune in ingredients trying to do them myself.

Oh and also laithwaites. For all the wine Grin

I'm toying with paper gang but I fear I'd deem all the stationary too nice to use and end up with a huge stockpile!!

I used to have degustabox but went off it as it kept repeating the contents over and over again. Apparently if something was in new packaging -they deemed it a new product Confused

Afraid I dont know of any cheese subscription boxes though

ThomasHardyPerennial · 01/07/2019 21:56

I get a candle subscription from The Botanical Candle Co. Now have tealights coming out of my ears, but at least my house smells nice Grin.

Haven't seen Papergang before, that is next on my list now!

Thanks for the replies - Freddie’s Flowers was one I looked at as a possible. Thanks for code! I worry that I won’t know when they are going to deliver and the flowers would wilt on the doorstep.

The cheese ones are quite expensive but I think they are the least likely to repeat themselves.

I got the (very) hard sell from a Freddie's Flowers sales rep at a big garden show I was at the other week, and it put me right off. Not that I would have subscribed anyway.

.

bee222 · 03/07/2019 23:37

I get the Look Fantastic box. I've tried many beauty boxes and this is by far the best value for money. You get some full sized products plus some decent travel sized - plus a copy of Elle magazine.

I have graze delivered every week. It's really good for a small snack during the day, I've been squirreling them inmy hospital bag for the past few weeks rather than buying more food 😳

daphine2004 · 03/07/2019 23:59

I’m just going to linger here.

Years ago I subscribed to hotel chocolate monthly letterbox. I promised myself it would be one chocolate a day, but unfortunately didn’t work out that way and I had to cancel, a few inches bigger! 😂

MadisonAvenue · 04/07/2019 13:54

Anyone thinking of Freddie’s, my flowers have just arrived and I’m hoping it’s a matter of them being in transit for a day or so and being thirsty but they look a bit worse for wear. I’ve attached a photo which actually makes them look better than they are Hmm

What subscriptions do you have?
britnay · 04/07/2019 14:52

@Madison Avenue
Get 4 cups of warm water, add 1/2 tsp bleach, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp white vinegar. Mix together. Use this solution to keep your flowers in. replace every 3 days or so.

SuperPixie247 · 04/07/2019 15:08

Apart from my direct debits, none Hmm Grin

My DGM has Bloom & Wild monthly which always look really nice. Hanging around for ideas!

Magmatic80 · 04/07/2019 15:16

I get a fancy magazine for a craft I rarely do. I don’t think I’ve ever made any of the patterns but it’s a treat to read and imagine I’d ever be good enough to make these things Grin

How can you possible have a 'message deleted due to talk guidelines' on a thread like this??

Ivegotthree · 04/07/2019 15:38

Advertising, @Nesssie

Benes · 04/07/2019 15:40

I used to have a cocktail subscription and it was amazing!! They went out of business unfortunately but I am tempted by a gin one my friend has.

letsdolunch321 · 04/07/2019 15:41

I have two magazine subscriptions.

Nesssie · 04/07/2019 15:49

@Ivegotthree Thanks, makes sense.

BatFacedGirl · 04/07/2019 15:50

Gousto every week - which is amazing. Delicious food

LookMumNoFeet · 04/07/2019 15:58

Coffee beans! At the moment I have Pact

probstimeforanewname · 04/07/2019 17:25

I used to get Graze but in the end decided it was too expensive and not very healthy. A tin of pineapple or peaches is a better snack and a tin can be recycled unlike the plastic in a Graze box.

I've also had various beauty boxes but have found them all reasonably disappointing.

And subscribed to coffee boxes (Pact was one of them) but they didn't really work with my filter coffee machine they only seemed to be for bean or cafetiere.

I now subscribe to a couple of magazines and am a member of Which and my local Wildlife Trust so get their magazines.

MrsAmaretto · 04/07/2019 17:34

Unsubscribe to Craftpod which is quarterly. It’s brilliant - 2 wee craft projects which you can do whether you are a beginner or expert. I love it. She’s on Instagram and Facebook.
