Hi pls can anyone recommend some good child friendly restaurants near Prince Edward theatre? Been trying to book Rainforest Cafe but they are quite difficult to deal with for a larger group so need alternatives! Thanks

How big is your group? What is your pp budget and youngest age?

Jasging · 01/07/2019 11:58

Only 7 people, but seemingly to upgrade from 6 to 7 people at Rainforest is beyond them (!) youngest age 4 won't eat anything anyway! Just looking for burgers, Italian, etc, cost not a problem just wanted something fun for the kids.

Rainforest cafe is dreadful. Mostly full of terrified screaming kids and parents moaning about the crap service and food. Cut your losses and go to giraffe on the south bank, walk along south bank after. Much more civilised and will. Probably save you a couple of hundred ££££.

Try Maxwells or Wild Wood in Covent Garden. Its not that far to walk to the theatre from there

There is a pizza express tucked away on wardour street (and you get to mooch around Chinatown too!)

PS agree about Rain Forest Cafe. Its eye wateringly expensive, the food isn't great either and the final insult if you have to walk through massively expensive shop to get in and out with all the pester power that brings. It has some novelty value I suppose and we've taken DCs in the past but wouldnt rush back

Why are the kids terrified? Confused

Jasging · 01/07/2019 16:42

Haha I'm sure it is overpriced crap food. Been to the one in Paris which was great so maybe it would be disappointing! How far is the Giraffe from theatre?

@RosaWaiting because of the random thunder, rain and giant gorilla 😂

sharklah oh, thanks.

There's lots of chains, we found a great Lebanese near there that the kids loved at that age. Theres loads of independent Italian restaurants tucked on side streets and late afternoon they have pre theatre menus

My DC like Vapiano - there's one in Soho though we haven't been to that one.
Basically you go up to a counter with a swipe card and they cook pizza or pasta in front of you.
