Just found out my adult dc was taken to hospital last night with severe tachycardia & sickness. They're only 25, very fit & healthy - great diet etc, no smoking/drugs. What's going on? It's too early for me to get any information yet.

I don't know anything... but offering a hand-hold.

LovelyInLavender · 01/07/2019 09:05

I'm going out of my mind with worry. Sad

A handhold from me.

I hope it is resolved soon.

They’re in the best place. You must be so worried but they’ll be well looked after Flowers

Are you nearby? Can you get to the hospital? Who took them in, do they have a partner who could shed more light? Hand holding here for you too

LovelyInLavender · 01/07/2019 09:24

No partner & at the moment I've no idea how they went in. I managed to speak to someone but there's no news yet - I've been told to wait.

Oh I hope it’s resolved soon .
Could it be heatstroke maybe?

bobstersmum · 01/07/2019 09:57

Heart rate does significantly increase when you have an infection or virus, it could be something simple op.

FenellaMaxwell · 01/07/2019 10:29

Take a deep breath - being tachycardic doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with the heart - it can be caused by an imbalance of electrolytes like with a stomach bug, or by a panic attack, or even by too much caffeine. There are lots more benign explanations than there are serious ones.

FenellaMaxwell · 01/07/2019 10:30

One thing I would suggest - DON’T GOOGLE. Nothing good comes from that, wait until you have the full info. If it was anything really significant, you would have heard last night when they were admitted, not the next morning.

OhNoooNotAgain · 01/07/2019 10:43

From experience, it could be many things, try not to panic. Are you able to get to them?
