Diarrhoea- will a walk-in clinic ask for a sample?

I’ve had diarrhoea for 2 weeks and there’s no sign of it going away. I tried to get an appointment with my GP but it’s not until next week. If I go to a walk-in centre can they accept a stool sample for testing or do I need to go to the GP for this?

I expect not.

The threshold for further investigations is change in bible habit that has lasted over 3 weeks, so a GP appointment in a week's time sounds spot on.

In the mean time, keep your fluids up, and go as gently in yourself as possible. It does sound tough.

DYAC!

Sod all to do with bibles - I meant change in bowel habit

Lol my bible habits haven’t changed!

Thanks so much for the reply AuntieStella, it’s really useful to know this as I was starting to worry. I’ll wait another week and hopefully it will have cleared up by then.
