Anyone else driven to distraction by foxes loudly shagging every night?

Honestly, bloody-curdling screams that go on for hours. I think there's a den in one of my neighbours gardens. I got up to watch them the other night because they were making such a racket. They can scale a 6ft + 2ft trellis fence like it's nothing. Playing in my neighbours paddling pool. Wouldn't be so bad if they only mated once a year but I think in the city they just breed all year round. Anyone else driven nuts by them?

Me too. It's like the sound of babies being tortured. Awful. But they are incredibly cute and I still feel excited everytime I see them!

I've had to sleep with my window shut because of the foxes. When do they stop bonking?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/06/2019 17:04

Bloody hate them
The noise at 2am
The worry that they'd terrorise my guinea-pigs ( who I don't have now and lived in a Fort Knox Piggie House but just them being there annoyed me)
The oily grey shit they leave
And they shred peoples binbags (those who leave them out overnight)

I would never wish foxes harm but I just don't like them Angry

They were playing in the paddling pool?

That's so cute!!!

We must have a den near to us this year because they are being a total nuisance. I read that the Cubs come out of the den in June so it maybe that. We have the DCs water gun in our room and squirt them as they like playing under our bedroom window. Hmm

So it's actually foxes and not some randy couple having it off in the hedge? WinkGrin

I've never actually heard foxes mating! Tell your neighbours though if they're not aware that the foxes have been in their pool in case their dcs play in it before the water's been changed.

Cats and foxes yowling, muntjac barking, owls hooting, flippin’ farmer hay making at 3am. Grin

Still wouldn’t want to live in a town though.

Pipandmum · 30/06/2019 17:28

They aren’t always mating. There seems to be a bit of territorial barking going on too. I was sitting outside for lunch yesterday and a fox walked over to my rabbit run for a peak (they aren’t really interested and the rabbits paid him no heed). It scares my kids (teens) as it can sound really creepy. But hey they’re allowed a life too.

Me. In the heart of a council estate in a large city.

I used to think they were banshees when I was little Blush

Now I wake up momentarily thinking someone is being attacked or a baby has been abandoned Confused

SnappedandFartedagain · 30/06/2019 17:33

God yes it’s been a nightmare lately - every night and it’s so loud and blood curdling. If I didn’t have to listen out for the kids I would wear ear plugs. To add insult to injury they shit all over our drive too.

You're not in Midsomer by any chance are you OP? Grin
