Washing machine issue - can anyone help??

For the past couple of months, the fabric conditioner compartment of the washing machine has been full of water after the washing cycle ends. The machine seems to be working fine in all other aspects and is about four years old.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? Maybe there's a blockage or something somewhere?

Any help happily received Grin

I don't use fabric conditioner, by the way. And the drawer is clean as it's rinsed after every use.

Mine always has water in the fabric softener compartment of the drawer after use; never thought it shouldn’t!!

The water is right up to the top, so when I open the drawer, it sloshes onto the floor. This is definitely a new issue, and didn't happen with my previous two machines either. Consequently, I'm thinking something may be amiss!

You need to remove the drawer and clean inside along the top of the inside where the drawer goes - this is where the water comes in and whooshes (technical term) the softener along. I usually do it with a sponge with some washing up liquid on - the liquid breaks down any soap stuck into the bits and bobs.

Thanks, Fairylea, have had a look and can see those holes, so will give it a go tomorrow - fingers crossed!

and in future put white vinegar in the conditioner drawer before washing. Softens the water, prevents blocking and build up and doesn't smell
