Anyone live in Lincoln?

Are the Xmas markets really only on for three day as google is telling me?

It usually opens Thursday evening and finishes on Sunday.

Yep. I went once and never again! It was rammed, couldn't get near the stalls as was carried round in a huge wave of people.

I agree horse , although some brave people love it and go every year! Sunday daytime is the quietest time.

Agree Horse. The queues for the trains were ridiculous as well.

It now opens at 12 on a Thursday, we go up about an hour after it opens, I’m a short arse & can’t see anything if we go later

Of course, it is a nice place to visit at other times of the year, without the crowds. There are some lovely little shops and loads of tea rooms!

And if you want to stay overnight, book well in advance as the hotels fill up quickly.

I went once and never again! Horrendous crowds and stalls selling fast food and tat. Nothing Christmassy about it imo. Far better to visit Lincoln at any other time of year.

Oh yes, I agree Lincoln is beautiful; just don't visit when the Christmas Market is on! 😆

Me too. Went to the market once , years ago and never again. Love to visit Lincoln and wander up and down Steep Hill though.

I live nearby. The official ‘Christmas market’ does indeed run from Thursday PM to Sunday. However there are other market stalls during the year down the High street and a sausage festival! I prefer to go to the Christmas market on Thursday evening. We only go every few years though, tends to be the same stalls year to year.

Yes to sausage festival! Also, there are plenty of themed weekends, like the 40s Weekend and the Steampunk Festival. Great fun ;-)
