Hi everyone

Iv worked up the courage to write another thread after the last time!!(apologies if this has already been done I did look)

First day of the school summer holidays here and although it's very very warm it's been heavy rain and thunder and lightning on and off all day 😭

DD and I made cakes, played a game, went for coffee, done the cleaning...hoping for an early night if DH is home soon from work.

What's everyone doing/done today?

Very very little. DH away, eldest DD at work, younger DD out for the day. I've spent a lot of time on my phone and eating ice lollies.

wendz86 · 29/06/2019 19:20

Just getting dd2 to sleep. Crashed out quick though thankfully.

Been boiling here today , 33 degrees. Dd1 had swimming and dancing lessons and then we had paddling pool out. Popped to see some friends for a bit late afternoon.

Hoping it cools a bit before I go to bed or will be hard to sleep.

BigcatLittlecat · 29/06/2019 19:22

I'm sitting in the garden drinking Gin! Have cancelled having a Barbie it's very windy!!

Ursaminor · 29/06/2019 19:24

Watching Midsummer Murders - and it's the Alistair Kingslake episode - as the blustering murdered golfer! (Ref the thread about the entitled holiday would be gatecrashers.)

Urbanvoltaire · 29/06/2019 19:24

Ditto big cat, but I now need to go to shops for ice lollys.

booksandcaffeine · 29/06/2019 19:24

Eating my tea and watching some Netflix.

Ellabella989 · 29/06/2019 19:27

Just been sitting in the garden reading my book this evening. Coming inside now to make dinner for me and DP. We went to the zoo this morning and it was unbearably hot (32 degrees with hardly any shaded areas).

Theworldcouldbemymollusc · 29/06/2019 19:28

Lying in bed crying and feeling lonely. Just left my stbxh of 13 years

FrenchyQ · 29/06/2019 19:29

Went to the garden centre early this morning. lounged in the garden for a bit.
Went on a wild goosechase looking for a injured deer.
Cooked a BBQ and now laid on my bed (with ceiling fan on full) watching Gossip Girl (again) on Netflix

StumpyinSomerset · 29/06/2019 19:29

Popped into town to get a bottle of juice and some coils for my vape.
Came home, had a shower and spent the afternoon on the settee with a book, all windows open, back door too. It's suddenly gone a bit cooler and the wind has picked up. Perfect evening.

Tonight,I'm going to just potter about online, maybe see if there's owt on telly.

floraloctopus · 29/06/2019 19:31

We went out for the day, now home and sitting in front of a fan.

Longlostperson · 29/06/2019 19:33

Been out all day in the awful heat (35) with dd4 and ds15.
Came home and Now dh gone to work.
I’m in the garden on my phone. Dd17 having her tea. Younger dd playing in the garden, ds15 on his x box and eldest ds at work.
I hate the heat. Sad

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/06/2019 19:36

Did some work and then headed to the beach

PeriComoToes · 29/06/2019 19:37

Sitting in my undies watching Glastonbury

meepmoop · 29/06/2019 19:38

Sat in DS's room willing him to just go to sleep. If I slightly shuffle he goes full meerkat staring at me

threesenoughthanks · 29/06/2019 19:41

Theworldcouldbemymollusc hope you're okay. I'm sure things will get easier.

MotherOfTheNoise · 29/06/2019 19:46

Melting

tshirtsuntan · 29/06/2019 19:49

Was at work till four, done a food shop and now sitting in the paddling pool with a glass of iced rose while ds is in the house shouting about on his play station. Bliss.

Floralnomad · 29/06/2019 19:51

Watching cricket on TV with a very large fan going about 6’ away . I’m not even bothered if it’s too hot to sleep tonight as international Fight night starts at 2 am so I will just watch that .

Crunchymum · 29/06/2019 19:51

Been out all day. Went to inlaws to take advantage of their massive garden and paddling pool.

Now home and we are all hot, sticky and grumpy. I thought it was warm at my inlaws but it's another level coming home (we kept windows and shutters closed and have opened it all up now there is no direct sunlight)

It's going to be a restless night!!!

Wine is going to be consumed soon though. Hopefully I'll tire myself out Grin

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:52

Mumsnetting and trying to choose books that I want to get rid of.

weegiemum · 29/06/2019 20:11

Not a lot. With it being the last day of term yesterday (I'm assuming op is in Scotland too) both dd2 and ds we're out overnight, dd2 hanging out with her mates, ds doing the same but probably with beer (despite outdoor drinking ban in Glasgow). She's 15, he's 17. Dd1 hasn't arrived home for summer yet and I think was working.

So last night was just me and dh, we went to bed early to sleep (!) and didn't get up till 10 when the dog started to bark! Today we have lain about as it's so hot and humid, gone to Tesco and bought mainly wine and nibbles, sat around some more, watched F1 qualifying and now dh has gone to bed (too much wine) and I'm enjoying some peace and quiet. Dd2 has gone for a long walk with boyfriend and dog (she's in a very good mood as we said bf can stay over in dd1s room tonight), ds is at a different mates house tonight and I might watch yesterday's Love Island (that's how exciting my life is!)

mamasma · 29/06/2019 22:28

Wow,where are all you guys from?its sounds so hot!!

Yes east of Scotland here and the highest we got (I think) was 21 🙄

MadisonAvenue · 29/06/2019 22:33

We're watching The Killers on Glastonbury and wondering if it'll cool down enough to feel comfortable tonight.
