Hi. Any suggestions for craft activities for a small group of sen children. We've done weaving and cross stitch which went down well. It needs to be repetitive in nature and soothing due to the needs of the children (and my needs too at this time of year!) Thank you.

Potato prints? Used to love doing this as a kid.

Thank you. They are year sevens. I need something that has a mindfulness quality, if that makes sense.

Mosaics - not sure if these are too easy but you can get 'freestyle' ones too

We do tie dyeing t shirts using elastic bands not string. Then we sew buttons on in patterns they have designed. When finished we do a fashion show and they wear their t shirts home.

Making collages using magazines, newspapers etc. You can have the mindfulness aspect by having them focus on something meaningful to them. Some examples would be "my favorite things," the environment, animals, etc. Many years ago I had success doing this activity with troubled teens.

Would making a Gods eye work? Two (or more) crossed sticks with wool wrapped round - a bit like weaving, but a different outcome. this, but maybe change the name!

Air dry clay. You can buy blocks of it on Amazon then paint and varnish.
