The fashion industry creates more CO2 than aviation and shipping combined!

I knew the fashion industry is terrible for the environment but I had no idea that it caused more CO2 than aviation and shipping combined. Sad

According to this article the average item of clothing bought at cheap retailers like Boohoo is discarded after 5 weeks! Confused

Every time we wash them, microparticules go through the filters and ends up in the ocean.

There are far more players in the environment damage than only the fossil fuels company but it is easier for everyone to join the finger at them than accepted we have a responsibility because of what we eat ( industrial cattle industry ) or wear (cheap clothes).

There was a brilliant programme on radio 4 a few weeks ago which was all about the environmental impact of the fashion industry & that's where I first heard that stat. Not sustainable at all.
