My barking dog has solved bedtime

My DS 2 has stopped letting me leave the room when he goes to bed. He goes into full screaming crying as soon as I leave. However..

The past couple of nights my dog has gone mad barking out the window at passers by when I'm in there. When I go out the room to tell him to stop barking. DS magically goes to sleep or doesn't mind that I've left and I don't need to go in.

Just need to make sure someone walks by every night now

You record the barking, save it as an alarm on your phone, set the alarm for 5/10 minutes after his bedtime, leave phone at bottom of stairs.

Maybe your dog actually knows what is going on and is actively helping you.Wink

@Flavabobble in the presence of greatness here!! I was thinking along the lines of paying a neighbour to do it Confused

Your dog is brilliant, I so hope the barking is because he's cracked the code on getting lo to sleep. If it isn't, @Flavabobble is a genius!

meepmoop · 28/06/2019 19:59

@Flavabobble that's genius I will be trying that out!

I like to think the dog knows what he's doing however it's more likely he likes the sound of his voice

Well it's white noise isn't it! Just try all different types of annoying white noise on an app and see if they work? Or train your dog to yap at bedtime, you can pay him in sausages.

My dog used to go into my DDs bedroom when she cried in her cot. He just lay down on the floor until she stopped crying. We sometimes heard her chatting to the dog before going back to sleep.

Bloody love my dog. And DD of course.
