My DD2 (10, year 5) has just arrived home from a school trip abroad with more stories of how one particular girl in her class has been a little monster to her. I'm so utterly pissed off and done with it. This has been going on for months now and school, while they are trying, just don't seem to have any teeth.
This girl's Mother has been called in to school five times over her behaviour towards DD2, but it isn't making it better. Worse, we live on the same road as the school and this little girl has shouted a swear word-ised version of DD2's name through our letter box and has turned up at 10pm by herself trying to cause trouble. Our (new last sodding week!) car has also been keyed, which is suspicious.
DD2 has been put on a confidence improving course by the school (she is mega confident outside of school!) which enrages me...she doesn't have a confidence problem, but she bloody well will if it carries on!
DD2 is vulnerable to this kind of stuff, she is very gender non-conforming and is pretty convinced that she is a lesbian. I mention this because during one of my meetings with school (about the confidence building course) it was mentioned that the course might help her to 'fit in'...but why on earth should she have to change who she is because school can't stamp out some bullying!?!
I'm honestly not sure what I want hear, other than to express my frustration. DD2 is a little ray of sunshine and I'm so sad that she is being treated like this.
Anyone had experience of this kind of thing? We are pushing hard at the school, but what kind of resolution can we even expect?
