How old are your kids? The actual PPW part of the park is quite quiet during nap time. There are quite a few other rides hidden around the park that are accessible from large toddler upwards. If it’s hot take swimmers for the splash park. Also if you’re travelling down tomorrow maybe rethink as I think the m27 is closed this weekend. Double check that!

megletthesecond · 28/06/2019 07:31

yy, huge diversions around Southampton because they're moving a bridge into place over the M27. Check your route carefully.

George's dinosaur ride is awesome.

moveoverhogger · 28/06/2019 07:36

There's a decent size splash park when you go to Paultons side of the park & a small one in PPW, so brilliant no cossies & towels.

It's a fantastic theme park & lots for the DC to go on in Paultons park as well as PPW rides.

Have a fantastic time Smile

moveoverhogger · 28/06/2019 07:37

Bring some not brilliant no Confused

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 28/06/2019 08:29

It gets incredibly busy. If possible go straight to PPW first - go right - and get some rides done before the queues start. Definitely do the dinosaur ride first.

When it gets too busy explore the rest if the park and go back to PPW later in the afternoon. There are loads of other great rides for little ones. The play areas are also really good. There are lovely gardens in the middle of the park that stay quiet all day that you can find shade if your little one (and you!) needs a nap.

Have a great time. It's magical and you will cry when you see your little one's excited face if you're anything like me Blush

Yes allow lots of extra time for travel tomorrow because of the motorway closure.

What everyone else has said - we live near a diversion route and are expecting road chaos with the M27 closure.

There are also 5 cruise ships in Southampton on Sat just to add to the traffic.

happychange · 28/06/2019 13:13

Oh dear thanks so much for the tips! We booked hotels already so has to be tomorrowSadhopefully the traffic won't be too bad but we will make sure we leave early !

Don't overlook the rest of the park either as there are plenty of rides outside PPW that are great and have smaller queues. Have fun...I really like PPW. It's fab!

FlowerTink · 28/06/2019 14:21

Stay all day tomorrow if you can. It gets quiet around school pick up time as people leave to get older children. Go to peppa first before it gets busy, and there is LOTS for younger ones to do in Paultons too do make sure you look there too.

You can bring a picnic, they have lockers around that are £1 but they are amazing so you're not dragging everything around.

They have meet and greets with peppa and George at the school house in peppa world, my DD loves that! Also bring plenty of money for the gift shops, they have a peppa shop and if your DC are like mine they will be delighted by the amount of choice there!

We live nearby so have season passes, its lovely there you will have a great time!

Emmabryant123 · 28/06/2019 16:02

We went yesterday with my 3 year old
Take a packed lunch is my recommendation
My little girl absolutely adored it

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 28/06/2019 16:14

It could well be quieter than usual due to the roadworks. It's all over the local news so I think a lot of people inc season pass holders won't bother going out unless they have to. Fingers crossed for you.

theSnuffster · 28/06/2019 17:07

We had season passes last year. Fantastic theme park. If you have younger children head straight for peppa pig world, for slightly older children go for the dinosaur park first. Both areas can get very busy. Mine are a little older and little thrill seekers so we haven't bothered with peppa pig world for a while, meaning they could go on every other ride in the park in one day with time to spare, even on busier days.

Allow plenty of time to travel- if you can get there before opening (and look at a park map beforehand to work out which area you need to get to first) you should manage a couple of rides before it gets really packed.

The M27 will be shut between M3 and J2 for PPW/Paultons. There is a very long diversion through Romsey which is expected to be gridlocked, especially as there are 5 cruise ships in Southampton tomorrow. However, if you are coming down M3, keep going to A33 for Southampton and down the Avenue. Follow the signs to the docks then turn right on the ring road towards the Bournemouth, New Forest direction. If you head over the Redbridge flyover to Totton, head towards Ower and Salisbury on the A36. Paultons is a few minutes from Totton at Ower.

happychange · 28/06/2019 19:17

@Numbersaremything thank you so much!! Will do that, really appreciate the tip!

A warning though, the M3/A33 route will also be dire, but slightly less dire than the official diversion.

Every teenager around here works at PPW.

Numbersaremything · 28/06/2019 19:51

If you are staying the night, Moors Valley at Ringwood is a lovely (cheap) day out for Sunday or Marwell Zoo has the most adorable red pandas near Winchester. Longdown Dairy Farm is also harmless fun around 3-4 miles from Paultons.
