New job new name?

I've never liked my name. I was named after my gran, and rarely meet another. It's an old lady name, causes issues as I work with international teams and they find it difficult.

After almost 20 years, I have a new job, should I just adopt a nickname? I worked with a woman years ago who went from Elizabeth to Beth, and she was an ass, the name change just accentuated it.

My shortening would be easier, and I think younger. My name is so annoying even I struggle to say it, I can't face having to tell a whole office (+ international) my name.

Probably answered my own question Grin

What’s your name?

I think that’s fine. I’ve known people go by their middle name! Adopt the shortening and see how you find it.
