Buckhurst Hill - where to visit?

Could anyone suggest somewhere to visit please?

We are going to be in Buckhurst Hill on Saturday from 10-3pm.

We need somewhere to take the kids (5&8). Preferably somewhere with a play park and with free entry and if there’s a cafe, that would be a bonus!

I’ve looked at Epping Forest and Lee Valley Park but neither seems to have a play park.

Thank you Smile

Hainault Forest country park is not too far away and has lots of cute animals.

The only playground I can think of is right by the pub The Three Colts. It backs on to Lords Bushes which is a nice little bit of the forest. The Three Colts is very family friendly in the daytime, but a little pricy. You have various cafes and restaurants nearby on Queens Road. There’s also Waitrose very nearby, when mine were younger I used to buy coffee and sandwiches etc in Waitrose and then we’d eat in the playground or forest.

The Owl in High Beech, Epping Forest.

The Lea Valley white water rafting centre at Waltham Abbey is also lovely.

Another option is to jump on the central line and head to Stratford station. Olympic Park is brilliant.
