I'm doing a flying visit out there next week - I'll have one night, one full day and an afternoon. I need to stay somewhere that's not too far from the airport but close to the railway station so recommendations would be appreciated!

Other than that, are there any must see or must visit places?? I've never been there before. Oh, and I can speak a reasonable level of Spanish.

We loved the sagrada familia. It was genuinely amazing. We struggled to find places to eat, obviously on the wrong street. The food market was amazing too.
Wasn't as fussed by goudis house.

Are you traveling onwards via the train station? The easiest way to get to the city centre from the airport is by bus. I forget what it’s called but it’s the airport bus. It’s easy and affordable.

Personally I like the area around Poble Sec much more than the really touristy bits around the Gothic Quarter/El Born, but if you want to be in the centre of the tourist stuff it would be there. There are lots of Airbnbs.

I’m not one for churches, but Sagrada Familia is really worth a visit. I did the audio guide tour and it was really interesting. Las Ramblas is fun to stroll at night (mind pickpockets though) and Mercat de la Boqueria is wonderful (only open during the day). There are some amazing seafood restaurants there.

My favourite place to eat and drink is called El Xampanyet, which is a cava bar and little like taverna. It’s amazing. But you must get there early to get a table.

Just back and loved it! I highly recommend the bus tour and you can hop on and off. Food market off las Ramblas is fab-had excellent meals the whole time I was there. Loved walking around the little streets off las ramblas-so cute with lovely independent shops/cafes.
