Found a baby bird which is hatching!

I've just come round to visit DP's and they had found an egg in their garden which was starting to hatch. They have made a nest in a shoe box and put it in the green house and the little bird is still moving slowly and trying to hatch.

Does anyone have any ideas what they can do to keep it alive? Is there any hope for it?

Sorry but it’s very unlikely to survive
At that age they need specialist care and feeding ( I volunteer at a wildlife rescue) and even then we lose a good proportion

It's still alive but hasn't properly hatched out of the shell yet, we think it's a pigeon.

DP's have taken it inside for the night and keeping the makeshift nest warm.
