Do you feed the birds, and do they recognize you?

I "have" a crow, as in, one that comes everyday to have a snack and a natter.
I call him Roger, and he is lovely, to my mind.
I have got to the point where he will sit and eat beside me, but not yet willing to take food from my hand.

Im pretty sure I'm not the only one being trained by a bird to bring them foodGrin
Any one else,?

Argh I want a crow!

I do feed the birds, and we get regulars. I’m pretty sure they wait nearby as almost as soon as I’ve replenished the feeders and gone back in, they’re there on them.

We did have a robin but I’ve not seen it lately. We get wood pigeons, sparrows, a few tits, starlings, blackbirds, collared doves and I’ve recently noticed a magpie visiting.

For the second year in a row I've had Mrs D the duck nest by my pond. In a regular housing estate half a mile from the canal. I hope she comes back next year. She loves her sweetcorn and comes directly out to me when I open the back door (and then have to go back and open the tin). 10 chicks last year and 8 this year :)

We have a crow which comes and finishes off the hedgehog food then picks up the small bowl and throws it aside to get any food underneath. The blackbird and it’s fledglings also seem to enjoy the hedgehog food, in fact they are in the bowl very early in the morning scoffing it.

We have one of those cheap wildlife night cameras from Amazon which we set up to watch the hedgehogs nocturnal wanderings, they do eat a lot! The same birds appear at the same time each day to finish any food. Same blackbird feeding fledglings at about 5 am and crow at about 7 am

I am so grateful for all of these posts, because we are about to move, and the new place backs on to a huge forest.
I am hoping to set up a bird watching spot in the garden, and these have given me some great ideas.

Also, I love the photos, such cities😁
