What's a good non-smartphone?

All I want to be able to do is text two people, nothing else. Best/cheapest options? Ta!

Umm... anyone got one, at all? Or am I being really 1990s here??

I don't know anyone with a non smart phone these days.

Nokia 3310 3G (for snake as well haha)

Or if you want a very cheap phone, the Doro 6520 flip phone is good too.

My work phone is non-smart (tight arses).

I don't have a smartphone. Mine is a Nokia.

My spare is a PAYG Nokia, forgot which model but it's small, thin and pleasingly unstylish. It fits in the little back pocket of my running leggings. There's a fatter Nokia which comes in different colours which is what DH and DD have as spares.

Yes... I don't know if there's any non-smart with a touch screen, that would be better if you mainly want to text.

@scaryteacher that's amazing! I really would love to give up my smartphone. I think I could easily do it but it is WhatsApp that I'd miss out on because I have so many groups that I'm actively participating in.

@ErrolTheDragon Nokia Asha is a touch screen but it also has key pads as well.

@knittingformittens I've never had one, so wouldn't miss it. You can do whatsapp on non smart phones as my Nokia does it.

@scaryteacher really?! What Nokia do you have? I will be really interested to have one that does WhatsApp.

@*knittingformittens@ it's a Nokia Asha - looks like a blackberry...there are newer versions than mine. I think mine does FB as well (it has the symbol for it), but I' venever used that, and I checked and it has Whatsapp.

Thanks @scaryteacher I have ordered it from eBay! I'm hoping it is the Nokia Asha 210 QWERTY keyboard? As that's the only one I can find that accepts WhatsApp. Either way, I have done it! I like the dual sim as well, so I will be using that when I run a little business from home soon. I am exciting to embark on a digital detox too. Do you use Mumsnet on the laptop or on your phone? Thanks again for that.

Just a Nokia that can only call and txt. The same one as my parents!

I have a tablet I use for fb,mumsnet,online banking etc but never felt the need to be like my friends and follow the crowd.

I sometimes date and the men cant believe it!

@kerkyra I need to get a new phone anyway as this one is on the brink with the battery going so quickly so I'm thinking of getting a tablet, spend extra money on a very decent one, and use that in the evenings/spare time when DS is in bed and obviously the Asha can be used for calls and texts only.
