Toddler with recurring coldsores. Help!

I'm an absolute mess. My son got his first severe coldsore outbreak 9 months ago. (We have no idea how he got it) He averages 2 coldsores a month but since it's come into winter and catching all the bugs, he is getting a coldsore weekly. This month alone he has gotten 4!!!

He is only 2.2 years old and its BREAKING my heart seeing him go through this. No specialist or doctor will do anything and said for us to hope it gets better the older he gets. I can't accept that and I'm really struggling to deal with it. It's affected me emotionally, my relationship with my partner and life in general.

I'm starting to become very depressed. We are now using zovirax but seems to make no difference and I hate having to use it almost every day now.

I need to talk to someone who has been in the same situation and to tell me it gets better. I'm struggling!

Hi can I ask for an update on this? Has your toddlers cold sores become less frequent with age? Did you end up getting any medication for them or find out the triggers?
