IBS is a horrible condition isnt it

I know it could be worse alot worse but im having an IBS flare up and its so crap

Mine is mostly stress related. I'm having EMDR for my anxiety and it is really helping the IBS symptoms. In previous years I've had agonising cramps and have prob spent the equivalent of days of my life in the bathroom.

Found out today that I can no longer have cake.

So sad.

The ouch hit very quick.

It was a lovely cake as well

I have a IBS and a gallstone which leads to other issues.

Stress and anxiety makes it worse, but red meat, fatty foods, too much dairy and fruit set it off.

Mine was controlled on contraception but after having ds my god its out of control. The movements smell god awful

I am intolerant to cheese which is a shame because I love cheese, sometimes though I will have a big cheesy pizza just because I enjoy them, let the pain come!

Mine is better when I'm on the pill. It has got a lot more manageable in the past few years with relatively few flare-ups and no obvious food triggers. I find the worst things for me to do are miss meals and not go to the toilet when I need to. I sympathise with anyone else whose first response to a new place is "but where's the loo?"

When mine is bad, my stomach swells up so badly I look like I'm 5-6 months pregnant and even waddle like a very pregnant lady. As others have said, then there's the toss-up between trying to carry on and taking action which may result in horrific, loud, smelly farts whenever you bend over.
