If I send a card in the post on a Friday, what day will it be delivered? Would first class be Saturday and second class be Monday?

It would depend where you posted it. Our local pillar box has it's last collection at 12.15pm, so if you post anything during hte afternoon it sits in the box until the next day!

If you're lucky, first class should be next day. I never bother with second class as I have had so many things go missing.

Our last collection on Friday is 5pm so I will post it before then. So is first class likely to be delivered Saturday?

It’s not guaranteed to arrive the next day. On sending special delivery is guaranteed the next day.

The delivery aim for 1st Class items is the next working day. For 2nd Class items it's within 2-3 working days. Includes Saturdays.

Is my item guaranteed to arrive next day?
Although we aim to deliver 93% of 1st Class mail the next working day after posting, we are unable to provide a guaranteed service. For guaranteed next day delivery we recommend Special Delivery Guaranteedâ„¢.

Just to add that we have found on most occasions that personal letters/birthday cards that have been posted on a Friday have arrived on a Saturday with only one exception in particular springing to mine that didn’t arrive until the Monday.

I posted a birthday card on 15th January to my grandson, birthday is 24th January. It arrived 10th February
I posted a 60th birthday card to my sister on 23rd January, birthday is 29th January and that has not yet arrived
Both were posted first class and from different post boxes
It’s really the luck of the draw
