Anyone been in a TV audience...

and what was it like?
I always think being in the audience for Celebrity Juice looks fun but wonder is there a lot of waiting around and sitting through retakes that makes it less entertaining?
Have never gone to anything due to my location (would require travel and overnight hotel stay) although do apply for Strictly every year as feel that would be worth the travel, never been successful though :(

Deal or no deal a while ago. It was alright, shorter than I expected. They only did one retake due to the contestant swearing. The room you go in beforehand had props you could take your picture with, alas no bacon sarnies though.

Seen QI (with Fry and also Toksvig's first episode), which was great - like an extra extended episode, and a few bits of QI Elves coming and asking the audience questions ("stand up if you know what 'coals to Newcastle means. Sit down if you're over 40. Let's check - everyone under 40 stand up. Right, Google it...")

Also a couple pilot quiz shows which didn't get anywhere.

Oh, and we went to a Eurovision semi final, which was bloody brilliant. Spent five days in Stockholm first and had such a great time at the live show

Was in the audience for David Letterman about 10 years ago in NYC. Can't remember much tbh but I don't think we queued for very long, it wasn't hours and hours long, just normal timing of the show. It was absolutely freezing though! It was May and the building was really old so it was absolutely bitter, my feet were like ice the whole time we were sitting, made it difficult to concentrate!

Been in the audience for Countdown when I was at Uni. Interesting to see the bits in between. Rachel Riley has help getting to the exact number for the maths if she needs it.
One contestant got told off as they were verging on cheating and were told if they did it again they'd get kicked off!

Ready, Steady, Cook ages ago, and Mock the Week more recently. Was really funny but they recorded about 2.5 hours for a half an hour show.

I was one of those people who danced in the audience of Top of the pops back in the day. I’ve been to a lot of BBC tv and radio recordings. Always good fun and sometimes you get some great bits that don’t be make the cut for obvious some reasons.
