Who would vote for Boris?

I'm amazed that we're in a situation where it looks like he will be PM. He can't string a sentence together, has had police out to his home for domestic argument, won't publicly debate & has not got a glowing past.

Why does anyone want him? I haven't heard anyone who thinks he is a good candidate.

Me.

CormoranStrike · 23/06/2019 19:46

Never in a million years, and cannot fathom why anyone would.

tinytemper66 · 23/06/2019 19:49

Rich deluded people who will get rich with him in charge

Dontbestupidagain · 23/06/2019 19:50

Soola please can you explain why?

Nanalisa60 · 23/06/2019 19:58

Well who would vote for Corbin!! Let’s face it there all a shower of Shite!!
I’m losing the will to live when I look at the lot of them including Trumpie Trump!!

Soola · 23/06/2019 20:04

I would have liked Dominic Raab but he’s fallen by the wayside.

I was a Conservative voter all my life, member of the young Conservatives as well.

Then John Major was a let down and Cameron finished me off. Mrs May I can’t even begin to say how awful she is.

I would never ever vote to the left so started supporting UKIP when Nigel was prominent but now I’ve given up on them too.

I used to really like Boris. He was a shining star that I had great hopes for but in recent years his popularity waned with me as well.

However, we are now where we are and he is the best of what is available.

I do like him as a person, but don’t agree on all of his politics but I’m supporting him and hope he will surpass the expectations of him to do great things.

Everyone I know and all my family think he is wonderful, I’m a little more hesitant but we shall see.

BullBullBull · 23/06/2019 20:06

I’m voting for him. I think he’ll be better than Hunt

Dowser · 23/06/2019 20:11

After the thread on here about Boris... no

Dontbestupidagain · 23/06/2019 21:55

soola I don't feel you've answered my question. What exactly is it you like about him? This is a genuine question.
I used to think he was okay, before he had any real responsibility - a bit of a harmless buffoon. But he has shown time and time again that he is generally incompetent - garden bridge debacle, water cannons, homophobic and racist comments.
What parts do you like and what evidence do you have to show that he can be successful pm?

Soola · 23/06/2019 23:02

@Dontbestupidagain

He’s an experienced politician for a start. Been in the game a long while.

I like most of his views although I’m a lot more to the right than he is.

I think with the right support he’s our best hope at the moment.

itsabongthing · 23/06/2019 23:10

Nope.
And I am something of a floating vita so not inconceivable that I could vote for a Tory but definitely not that one.

I read something on fb that struck a chord. Along the lines of this but more eloquent -
That it used to be that the most successful contenders for party leaders/PM were those who were less extreme and seen as being able to appeal to people who hadn’t before voted for the party.

But lately it’s more like the more extreme the better.

I could imagine that Rory Steward could have ‘turned me tory’ maybe.

itsabongthing · 23/06/2019 23:10

*voter not vita!!

OldUnit · 23/06/2019 23:14

Absolutely not, he's an awful human being, nevermind leader of our country!
But I couldn't vote for Corbyn either....

ArtistOfTheFloatingWorld · 24/06/2019 06:50

The only way I could ever conceive anyone would ever consider voting for Boris was if the alternative was Jeremy Hunt.

Oh, wait.....

Theworldisfullofgs · 24/06/2019 06:51

Nope but I wouldn't vote for Hunt either.

UnderTheTree · 24/06/2019 06:59

I can't stand Boris but Jeremy Hunt doesn't exactly have much going for him. I doubt many want to see him as PM, esp those that work for the NHS like me

It is a big mess.

buckeejit · 24/06/2019 09:18

I agree, it's more of pick your favourite turd.

Not a fan of Hunt either but why will Boris not debate? Think he's a disaster waiting to happen. Having already also happened....
