Anyone used norethisterone?

Doctor gave me this as on holiday and period due .

Started taking it 3 days ago but I'm getting really painful cramping just as if periods about to begin

Wondered if anyone here has used this medication and if it's usual?

I've used it to stop bleeding, don't remember getting cramps sorry (but had a lot of sleep since then)

You'll get a withdrawal bleed when you stop taking it that I do remember!

I took it with no issues. It held off my period until m 2 days after I stopped taking it. I did have tiny cramps but it was worth it to not have a period on holiday.
