First Walker Shoes

I got my son a pair of first walker shoes from Asda when he was cruising. (Went to Clark's originally but none I liked and Asda were ALOT cheaper)
He is now walking properly and I expect will grow out his current pair of shoes within the next couple of weeks.

I am planning on getting another pair of first walkers but just wondered how long do toddlers have these shoes before just having normal shoes or am I worrying over nothing and can just buy him any shoes as long as they fit?

They usually say no shoes at all until they are walking for 6 weeks and then first pair properly walking should be the soft cruiser shoes. Then after that normal shoes are probably fine, but depends on how fast they are outgrown. My first was in her first shoes maybe 6 months before she outgrew them?

I think the soft ones will be fine, especially in summer.

I had a small baby who walked early and her first "proper" shoes were cruisers. They didn't make the more rigid ones small enough.

Thank you both. He has big feet so I could jump straight into normal shoes from any shop range but I think I like the idea of a softer sole for now atleast.. I'll see how hes getting on once summer is over (or at least started!)

I just bought the second pair for my son who is 16 months, he has been walking since 11 months and grown out of them, I went for a softer flexible sole in a summer style (close toed). Hopefully they will last until the weather is cooler and will then get him an ordinary pair.

Bobux do a good first shoes range

I’ve just bought my 2 year old another pair of 1st walkers from Clark’s as he was struggling in his 1st proper shoes (and he’s been walking since 10 months). Clark’s are much cheaper if you wait for the sales

you want soft flexible soles forever, not just as "first walkers".

Thank you all! Think I'll stick to the first walkers for a while yet. I had a look in different shops today and definitely feel better giving him a softer sole shoe.
