Toy Story 4

No spoilers but wouldn't take little kids to see this! We LOVE Toy Story in this house but my emotionally sensitive son (10) found it really quite unsettling in places and to be honest so did l! Loved it don't get me wrong but there were a few characterisation choices that were a little sinister shall we say... Anyone else seen it? Hmm

Not yet. Hope to soon.

No spoilers please !!!

Saw it this morning. The character(s) I think you’re referring to are creepy, but certainly not more so than the baby-meccano hybrid monstrosity in Toy Story (original)!

I loved it - plenty of laughs and plenty of poignancy too. I shed a tear on more than one occasion.

Just seen it this afternoon. Loved the earlier ones but thought this one was a bit crap.

I was planning on taking my toddler to it as he's enjoyed the other ones... Not a good idea then?

MindfulMummy · 22/06/2019 20:21

Honnibee, everyone is different and it may well go over a toddler's head but mine found some of the characters pretty creepy... How did your little un respond to Sid and his creations reviously? (Mine used to hide!) Halo

He wasn't too bothered by them, but that was at home on TV rather than on the big screen! It would be his first actual cinema experience, so might be a bit much

AnybodysDude · 23/06/2019 07:22

My 2.5yo wasnt bothered by the creepy bits....me and DH on the other hand were rather unsettled!

SavageBeauty73 · 23/06/2019 07:31

I'm 45 and found it a bit creepy 😂

shartsi · 23/06/2019 07:34

My 7 year old found Aladdin scary in parts. We walked out of the cinema a few times

Meline · 23/06/2019 07:38

I took two seven year olds, including my sensitive son, and they loved it. I, on the other hand, wasn’t wildly impressed.

Which parts are you talking about, OP? I don’t think there’s anything anywhere nearly as frightening as Sid torturing toys in TS1 or Lotso or the near-immolation in TS3.

MindfulMummy · 23/06/2019 11:53

The ventriloquist dummies... Maybe it takes more life experience than a toddler would have to find it creepy but my boys found it a bit sinister, as did l....They did find Sid and his monstrosities rather freaky too the previous films to be fair.... What did we think of the film overall? Worth the hype?
