A plea to road users this summer

Please, please if out and about in the countryside this summer do not park in a passing place and leave your vehicle.

I live very remote, in a well loved walking and cycling area. Every day more and more passing places are filled with vehicles where people have gone off for a walk, or a wee sightsee.

Today I met a tractor and trailer oncoming, and I had an HGV behind me. The passing place on my left was blocked with hill walker vehicles. It was a dangerous ten minutes of reversing and squashing by for all of us.

Park in a designated car park. Ask the farmer and park in the yard. Park on a wide verge way where there is lots of room to get by, but never in a passing place.

Need a wee lie down and it's only five pm!!

and don't park in fucking field entrances! especially at harvest time. And also be aware that combine harvesters are fucking huge, so park well off the road please!
