Not a taat but reading the packed lunch thread and wondered if anyone could inspire me with ideas for when I make my next one. What nice things do you put in your packed lunches?

We love a picnic, it’s our favourite thing to do an nice summers day with the dc (5 & 2). We usually take mini sausage rolls/cocktail sausages or similar, pate, crackers, nice bread, cheeses, humus and crudités, crisps. Occasionally take quiche, frittata, pre cooked chicken pieces, couscous.

Pesto pasta - just as nice cold!

Sandwiches made with nice bread, crisps, fruit, litte yoghurts, quiches, mini cheeses, crackers, biscuits, pasta salad, sweet cherry tomatoes, sparkling elderflower, and our lovely white wicker picnic basket with the little plates and cutlery.

A freezer block is always a good idea but wrap it in a tea towel so everything doesn't get soggy from the condensation

This is one of my go to picnic options although I replace the b/nut squash with extra peppers and roasted red onion as I don't like squash. I sometimes do a Greek style one with hummus.

I'd usually bring a couple of easy sides such as tomato and cucumber salad, potato salad etc

Quiche, Spanish omelette, spanakopita, pinwheels are all good cold.

Snack type things:
Quorn cocktail sausages, veggie scotch eggs www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/vegetarian-scotch-eggs
^ obviously meat eaters can go for the real deal!
Cheese filled mini sweet peppers

Mexican layered dip and nachos

Fruit salad.

Something sweet such as chocolate biscuit cake or muffins.

We generally buy cold drinks when we're out so there's room for wine in the cooler.
